Mindful pause and shape something beautiful with your own hands

A Therapeutic Clay Workshop

Take a mindful pause and shape something beautiful with your own hands.

Join us for a relaxed, beginner-friendly pottery workshop where you’ll design and hand build your own ceramic mug from scratch. Guided by ceramic artists Sowgand and Kiumars, this hands-on session invites you to slow down, explore creativity, and experience the calming rhythm of working with clay.

No experience is needed. You’ll receive step-by-step guidance from a professional ceramic artist. Just bring your curiosity and a willingness to create.

You’ll learn basic hand-building techniques, experiment with form and texture, and create a functional mug that is uniquely yours. Your finished piece will be glazed and kiln-fired, ready for pickup in 20–25 days.

This workshop is perfect for beginners, art lovers, or anyone looking for a grounding and creative experience.

Come shape, slow down, and leave with a handmade mug, and a sense of calm.

All supplies will be provided, but feel free to bring any special items you'd like to incorporate into your practice. Your finished mug will be kiln-fired and you will be contacted to pick up your piece later.

Space is limited, so register early to secure your spot! Come nurture your creativity in a supportive and artistic environment, we look forward to creating with you!

This workshop is in support of LOUD Art Society's fundraising efforts.

About the Facilitators:

Sowgand Nabipour, a licensed Pottery and Ceramic School, and Kiumars Kamalinia, who holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts, are the co-founders of So-Q Studio. For more than three decades, they have cultivated a global perspective on the art of ceramics.

Their work reflects years of learning from master potters and exploring diverse ceramic traditions and techniques from around the world. This rich experience informs every piece they create and every class they teach.

At So-Q Studio, their approach to ceramics goes beyond technique — it is an ongoing exploration of how material, process, and intention shape both the object and the artist. Through teaching, they share not only practical skills but also a deeper appreciation for the creative and mindful process of working with clay.
